La UAB, entre les 100 primeres universitats del món en 10 disciplines segons el rànquing QS by Subject / UAB, among the top 100 universities in the world in 10 disciplines according to the QS ranking by Subject

L’edició de 2024 del QS World University Rankings by Subject situa la UAB entre les 100 millors universitats del món en 10 disciplines: Antropologia (51-100), Arqueologia (51-100), Economia i Econometria (77), Educació (89), Geografia (51-100), Idiomes moderns (72), Matemàtiques (97), Sociologia (66), Veterinària (27) i Lingüística (62). A més, la UAB està entre les 200 primeres universitats del món en 32 de les 55 disciplines científiques classificades per QS.

En l’àmbit estatal, la UAB lidera les universitats espanyoles en 5 matèries: Lingüística, Sociologia, Veterinària, Geografia i Antropologia (en aquestes dues matèries comparteix la primera posició amb altres universitats) i se situa entre les 3 millors posicions en 25 matèries més.

Pel que fa a la classificació per grans àrees de coneixement, la UAB passa de la posició 95 a la 93 mundial en Ciencies Socials, l’única gran àrea on la Universitat es troba entre les 100 primeres del món. Se situa en la posició 109 en Arts i Humanitats, en la 118 en Ciències Naturals, en la 151 en Ciències de la Vida i Medicina, i en la 236 en Enginyeria i Tecnologia.

QS publica anualment, des de 2011, el rànquing QS World University Rankings desglossat per disciplines científiques. La classificació ordena les millors universitats del món en 5 grans àrees de coneixement i en 55 disciplines científiques amb l’objectiu d’ajudar els futurs estudiants a identificar les universitats capdavanteres en un àmbit d’estudi determinat. El nombre d’universitats analitzades en aquesta edició ha estat de 4.982 a 149 països.

El rànquing està basat en les dades de la darrera edició del rànquing general, on la UAB se situa en la posició 149 mundial i com a primera de tot l’Estat.

The 2024 edition of the QS World University Rankings by Subject places UAB among the top 100 universities in the world in 10 disciplines: Anthropology (51-100), Archaeology (51-100), Economics and Econometrics (77), Education (89), Geography (51-100), Modern Languages (72), Mathematics (97), Sociology (66), Veterinary Science (27) and Linguistics (62). In addition, the UAB is among the top 200 universities in the world in 32 of the 55 scientific disciplines ranked by QS.

At the national level, UAB leads Spanish universities in 5 subjects: Linguistics, Sociology, Veterinary Science, Geography and Anthropology (in these two subjects it shares first place with other universities) and figures among the top 3 in 25 other subjects.

In the ranking by broad areas of knowledge, the UAB moved from 95th to 93rd place worldwide in Social Sciences, the only major area where the University is among the top 100 in the world. It ranks 109th in Arts and Humanities, 118th in Natural Sciences, 151st in Life Sciences and Medicine, and 236th in Engineering and Technology.

Since 2011, QS annually publishes the QS World University Rankings. The ranking orders the best universities in the world into 5 broad areas of knowledge and 55 scientific disciplines with the aim of helping prospective students to identify the leading universities in a given field of study. The number of universities analyzed in this edition was 4,982 in 149 countries.

The ranking is based on data from the last edition of the general ranking, where the UAB ranked 149th in the world and first in Spain.
