PhD grant: Processing advantages of natural prosodic cues in the context of language acquisition

The Language and Comparative Cognition group at the Center for Brain and Cognition (Universitat Pompeu Fabra; Barcelona) is offering one PhD position to work on a project financed by the Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación (PI: Juan Manuel Toro).

The project explores the processing advantages of natural prosodic cues in the context of language acquisition. It involves work with adult participants using EEG recordings. Optionally, the student might also be involved in experiments using non-human animals. The position is for three years.

The Center for Brain and Cognition is a research center offering a rich interdisciplinary study environment. It consists of several research groups that include Principal Investigators, Postdocs and PhD students working on a wide array of issues in current Cognitive Neurosciences.
